What do I need to be a Firefighter?
To be a firefighter in Marin and Sonoma County, you will need a Certificate of Completion from Firefighter I (Fire 208.1), EMT Cert, and 6 months of volunteer work at a fire agency.


How do I enroll in Firefighter I (Fire 208.1)?
After successful completion of the prerequisites, FIRE 71, EMC 100, and FIRE 208, you may download a lottery form; complete it, and return it to the Fire Technology Department located at the Windsor center. Students must be at least 18 years of age to enter the Academy.


When is Fire 71 offered?

Fire 71 is offered in the spring, summer, and fall at SRJC’s Santa Rosa, Windsor and Petaluma campuses. (See schedule for listing)
