Students enrolled in the Emergency Medical Care (EMC) Program will receive excellent training in pre-hospital emergency medical care, including physical assessment, medical techniques, and ambulance operations. Students pursuing jobs in Emergency Medical Care are prepared at SRJC for basic emergency first aid, Emergency Medical Technician certification, and Paramedic certification through the state Emergency Medical Services Authority.
SRJC’s Paramedic Academy is nationally accredited, and is a yearlong program that includes three components: classroom, clinical (in hospital), and field internship. Emergency medical personnel receive in-service training and certification renewal credits in the areas of emergency vehicle operations, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric life support, and more.
